Dr. Alex Farris

"The handouts for history taking and treatment protocols were super helpful!"

Dr. Piper Gauthier

"It has meant a great deal to me to have one-on-one time with you and learn from your expertise as I navigate the early stages of my career in exotics. I am very lucky and grateful to have come across your course. Thank you for your kind words of encouragement and support during this first month of my dream job. It has made a big difference for me to be able to refer back to you and make sure I am practicing quality medicine for my patients and community."

Dr. Noor Sandhu

The recorded content to go at one’s own pace and case review during the video calls and the history sheets for reptiles especially [were the most helpful parts of the course].

With Exotic Vet Med Essentials, going from overwhelmed to confident is as easy as 1, 2, 3

# 1 Learn the Essentials

Get 18 hours of practical exotic vet med training (RACE-approval pending) covering mammals, birds, and reptiles.

#2 Implement immediately

Use plug-and-play tools like diagnostic flowcharts, stabilization checklists, and drug tables in your next exotic appointment.

#3 See exotics with confidence

Stop turning away cases and start enjoying the variety that makes veterinary medicine exciting again.

Exotic Vet Med Essentials is right for you if you are:

  • A small animal GP who secretly panics when a rabbit, bird or reptile shows up the schedule (even though you want to help them)

  • A vet who loves medicine, but feels under-trained, under-supported and overwhelmed when it comes to exotics

  • A little rebellious at heart and craving something more exciting, meaningful, and challenging than another itchy goldendoodle

  • An ER vet who can stabilize dogs and cats in your sleep, but feels unsure or even panicked when faced with an exotic patient in crisis

  • A clinician who worries about missing subtle signs in prey species that crash quickly

You're in the right place.

By the end of Exotic Vet Med Essentials, you will...

01

Feel prepared for the unexpected

because you'll finally know how to approach exotics cases methodically instead of scrambling for answers in the moment.

02

Communicate with clients more confidently

because you'll understand the "why" behind husbandry, nutrition, diagnostics, and treatment recommendations.

03

Finally feel like the well-rounded, capable vet you trained to be

because you didn't go to vet school to treat just one or two species. Expand your skillset beyond dogs and cats and become the go-to vet in your area for exotic vet care.

04

Trade goldendoodle ear infections for cases that actually excite you

by adding variety to your caseload with exotic patients that challenge you, light you up, and remind you that vet med can be fun.

05

Stop turning away revenue (and feeling guilty about it)

because you'll be confidently treating exotics cases that walk through your door and won't need to refer every rabbit, lizard, and parrot to the specialty clinic an hour away.

06

Stop playing small and start building the career you actually want

because you did it their way. Now it's time to do what you want. Say yes to the cases that excite you, stand out in your community, and create a career that feels like yours, not the one you were told you were supposed to have.

Dr. Sarah Cox

"Dr. Turner is an incredibly knowledgeable DVM, especially for exotic pet medicine. She stays up to date on the standard of care and ensures those she teaches learn the techniques too. She is very patient and wants to make sure the vets - and techs - she guides feel comfortable with what they’re doing and that they understand the clinical reasoning behind their decisions. Dr. Turner’s experience is invaluable and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her mentorship!"

Exotic Vet Med Essentials is officially open for enrollment and will change your career

What others are saying

"Thank you again for such amazing content! For some reason I felt really burned out from my job and it’s only been a year but your course has given me a second wind!"

Dr. T. L.

"I really enjoyed the weekly calls to review cases and materials relevant to the weeks course load. Having an experienced exotics vet review radiographs, bloodwork, cases, etc and give feedback was invaluable."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

You've got questions. I've got answers.

What if I don't have much (or any) experience with exotic patients?

You are exactly who this course is for. You don't need a background in exotics to succeed here. The lessons are short, practical, species-specific, and designed to give you a clear, repeatable system you can use right away.

What if I'm already overwhelmed in practice? I'm worried I won't be able to keep up.

I've been there!

I built this course with busy veterinarians in mind. Lessons are 15-20 minutes long and easy to fit into your day.

You'll have access to all the modules for a year, so there's no rush to "keep up."

You can learn at your own pace, revisit modules anytime, and use the tools whenever you need them.

How much time will I need each week?

Most students spend 1-3 hours per week watching lessons and reviewing resources. The schedule is flexible - lessons are short enough you can watch during a lunch break (if you want to - hold those boundaries, girl!) or whenever fits your life.

Is this course RACE-approved? Will I get CE credit?

The 2026 version is undergoing RACE approval for 18 hours of CE (up from 12).
Previous iterations of Essentials were fully RACE-approved, and this updated version has been designed to exceed all requirements.

When are the live coaching calls? What if I can't attend?

The live coaching calls will take place on Mondays at 12 pm CT. If >1/2 the group can't meet at that time, I will add an additional meeting time (typically a weekday evening).

All live calls will be recorded and you'll have access to the replays. You can also submit questions ahead of time and still get the answers you need, even if you can't be there live.

How does the Telegram support bonus work?

If you’re one of the first 10 students to enroll before December 31, you’ll get 12 weeks of access to me on Telegram, available two non-consecutive days a week between 9 am and 5 pm. Exact days are TBD, but it will likely be either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs. You can message me with voice notes, texts, photos, videos — whatever helps you get clarity. It’s like having an exotics mentor in your pocket as you build your confidence.

When does the course start?

The next cohort begins January 26, 2026. We'll start the coaching calls the following week so you can settle in and get familiar with the platform.

Does this course cover emergency or urgent care presentations?

Absolutely. I've treated exotic emergencies for over 12 years in practice and now I consult for VEG ER for Pets exotics cases. Many vets enroll in this course specifically because they feel unprepared for exotics emergencies.

You’ll get species-specific stabilization checklists, diagnostic flowcharts, and real-world case examples so you’re not guessing when a critical patient walks in.

How is this different from reading a textbook or attending a conference lecture?

Textbooks tell you what to do. This course tells you how to do it. You'll get step-by-step systems, quick-reference tools, case reviews, and real-time coaching so you can apply what you learn immediately, without spending hours searching through articles or notes.

Can I really learn exotic veterinary medicine online?

Yes! What most veterinarians lack isn't hands-on skills, it's a system. This course gives you the frameworks, confidence, and decision-making clarity you need to walk into an exotics appointment without panic. The hands-on skills, like restraint or venipuncture, become much easier when you understand the "why" and the "how."

Is there a payment plan?

Yes! You can pay in full ($1299) or elect for 4 monthly payments of $325 each.

How long do I have access to course materials?

You will have access to video modules for 1 year from the course start date. Once downloaded, you have lifetime access to all other materials (handouts, knowledge summaries, lesson transcripts, etc).

You can do this - and you don't have to do it alone!

Here's what I want you to remember...

You're not "bad at exotics"

You've simply never been given a clear, practical system that actually works in real life clinical practice.

You already have the foundation

You're a smart, capable veterinary professional who just needs the species-specific guidance vet school skimped out on.

You care deeply about your clients and patients

That alone puts you miles ahead - and it's why you're even considering this step.

You don't have to figure everything out by yourself

I’ll be here to guide you with structure, support, and real-world tools you can use immediately.

You're allowed to want more

More confidence. More clarity. More excitement in your career. If you've been craving more, this is your sign to go for it.

The future version of you is closer than you think

Your career shifts the moment you decide it does. If your heart is leaning towards "yes", trust it!

Ready to feel calm, capable, and confident with exotics?

You already have the foundation. I'm here to help you build a system that feels doable, sustainable, and aligned with how you already practice.

✨ A final note from me

If you’re still reading this, there’s a reason.

Some part of you wants something to change - maybe in your confidence, maybe in your career, maybe in how you feel walking into an exotic appointment. And I want you to know…I get it on a level I don’t often talk about.

When I first started out, I had no real mentorship in exotics. I was expected to figure it out on the fly, to “just make it work,” even when I felt completely unprepared. That kind of pressure adds up. And for me, it eventually led to deep burnout and a level of dissatisfaction that made me question whether I even belonged in this profession.

Then came my autoimmune diagnosis. Nothing forces you to re-evaluate your life faster than realizing the way you're practicing medicine...the pace you're keeping...the pressure you're carrying...is literally hurting you. I knew I couldn’t keep running on adrenaline and sheer determination. Something had to change.

And what truly changed everything was the moment I realized I didn’t have to keep living the life or building the career I was “supposed to.”

I didn’t have to follow the traditional path. I didn’t have to grind myself into the ground. I didn’t have to pretend I was okay when I wasn’t. I could choose something different - something more aligned, more fulfilling, more me.

That realization is what led me to rebuild my career around clarity, purpose, and the kind of medicine that lights me up.

And it’s why I built Exotic Vet Med Essentials.

I built this for the veterinarians who care deeply.

For the ones who show up even when they’re scared.

For the ones who want to love this part of medicine but don’t feel like they can yet.

For the ones who know there has to be a different way - and are finally ready to take that step.

You don’t have to keep guessing.

You don’t have to keep feeling alone.

And you don’t have to burn yourself out trying to piece this together by yourself.

You already have the foundation.

Let me help you build the rest - in a way that feels supportive, sustainable, and genuinely exciting.

I’d be honored to walk alongside you inside Essentials.

You’re ready for this. And I’ve got your back.

Join Exotic Vet Med Essentials before it's gone.
